dirty footprints

I love light soled sandals for the summer. The only thing I don't like about them is the inevitable dirty footprint that forms once you start wearing them. It irritates me to no end and looks so icky in my opinion.

I have two pairs of the Lilly Pulitzer Spaghetti Strap McKims that I got for the summer. The Hotty Pink ones above and a gold pair. After being worn twice, they are already starting to show the outline of my foot.

Do any of you have advice/suggestions on keeping your sandals cleans and footprint free?

  1. I agree...SO ANNOYING. I wonder if the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would do anything? Those things seem to clean just about anything.

p.s. good luck with your dress appointment tomorrow...so exciting!

  2. I use Fantastik(sp?) on my plastic flip flops...I think it would work for leather, too. Also, I've heard baby wipes works but I haven't tried that yet.

  5. I found the perfect thing one of those rare times a salesperson talked me into adding something to my order. All she had to do was tell me it works wonders on sandal and flip flops soles and I was sold. I was shocked when I tried it and it worked! That was two years ago and I swear by it.
It's by ALDO and if you have a store near you, you can just swing by and pick it up, or order it online. It's called Suds Cleaner and it's magical. I cringe just thinking of dirty soles.

  6. I read in Cosmo that you should never wear your sandals two days in a row -- the sweat will ruin them!

  7. Maybe put baby powder on your feet before wearing them?
